A man told Kent Police he became upset with his girlfriend when she accused him of cheating on her with another woman because he said she knew he dated other women, including as many as 10 at a time.
The man said he told his girlfriend they weren’t married so he could do whatever he wanted.
Officers arrested the man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face during a dispute about cheating at around 11:02 a.m. on Nov. 19 at an apartment in the 10800 block of Southeast 240th Place, according to the police report.
The woman called 911 initially to report her boyfriend had stolen her car, but the man returned home by the time police arrived at the apartment.
The man reportedly yelled at his girlfriend to leave the apartment after she became upset about his cheating on her. She refused to go, so he grabbed her purse and dumped the contents onto the ground.
When interviewed by officers, the boyfriend denied he hit his girlfriend. He claimed she attacked him, punched him and bit him on the arm. Officers noted that the woman had a bloody lip and a bruised eye and cheek. The boyfriend had what police described as a superficial bite mark on his arm.
Squatter flees from home
Police arrested a man for investigation of obstructing an officer after he reportedly fled from a home on Nov. 21 in the 900 block of Fourth Avenue North where he had been squatting and using drugs.
Residents in the North Park neighborhood called 911 to report people were inside the home even though the property owner has a no trespassing agreement with the city to keep people from squatting in the home, according to the police report.
When officers arrived, they spotted a man and a woman inside the home reportedly smoking meth. Both ran out of the home and refused commands by police to stop. Officers didn’t find the woman, but found the man a while later hiding in a ditch at the end of Third Avenue North.
The man told police he fled because he had just recently got out of King County’s Regional Justice Center jail in Kent and didn’t want to go back to jail. Police transported him to the city jail.
Husband grabs wife’s hair
Officers arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed his wife by her hair during a dispute at about 11:18 p.m. on Nov. 19 inside a vehicle parked outside of the Golden Indian Curry House, 20938 108th Ave. SE.
A 911 call reported several very drunk men were at a private party in a rented room next to the restaurant, according to the police report.
When officers arrived, they saw two men holding up an extremely intoxicated man. They tried to get the man inside a vehicle driven by his wife, but he struggled with the men.
The wife got out of the car and tried to get her husband inside the vehicle when he reportedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her inside the vehicle. That’s when officers decided to step in. Two officers pulled the man out of the car and handcuffed him.
Relatives of the man pleaded to police to let him go, but officers told the people they needed to arrest him and take him to jail because he assaulted his wife.
Man in park illegally
Police arrested a man for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant after officers spotted him in a parked vehicle after dusk at Hogan Park at Russell Road, 24400 Russell Road.
Officers saw the Honda Civic at about 10:01 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the parking lot of the park, which had closed, according to the police report.
When police walked up to the car, they saw the man had an open can of beer on his lap. A records check showed the man had a criminal trespass warrant out of Auburn. The man told officers he had a glass pipe in his pocket.
Police also cited the man for consuming alcohol in a city park.
