A Kent man is “Lucky for Life” after nearly throwing away a winning ticket for the popular Scratch game earlier this week. The winner, who asked to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from Fred Meyer, 10201 SE 240th St., Kent.
“I went to mail in a second-chance Seahawks Scratch ticket, when I saw an unscratched ‘Lucky for Life’ ticket sitting in a pile to throw away,” he said. “That’s when I scratched it and found out it was a winner.”
The man chose to take the lump sum of $750,000 instead of the annuity payments, which pays up to $1,000 a week for life. He told Washington’s Lottery officials he plans to put the money toward purchasing a townhouse in Kent. Other than that, he plans to save the remaining money for a rainy day.
