Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he reportedly grabbed his wife around the neck during a dispute.

Officers responded to the incident at about 9:10 a.m. on Nov. 22 at a house in the 700 block of Van De Vanter Avenue South, according to the police report.

The wife said her husband was using meth and having hallucinations. She told police he grabbed her around the neck and pushed her against a wall. She said she fought back and they both fell to the ground.

Officers noted that the woman had red marks on her neck and broken eye glasses. The woman said she thinks the glasses broke during the struggle.

The husband told police his wife had been using meth and is crazy. He said she started to hit him during an argument.

Woman punches car window

Police arrested a woman for investigation of third-degree malicious mischief after she allegedly punched out a rear passenger window of a car driven by her mother.

The mother had kicked the adult daughter and a friend out of her house earlier in the day, according to the police report.

The mother called 911 at about 2:29 p.m. on Nov. 20. She drove in the 24200 block of Military Road South and slowed down when she saw her daughter walking in the middle of the road. The daughter started to yell something at her mother and then began using her fist to punch a rear car window that shattered.

Police recognized the woman from a previous incident on Oct. 15 when she reportedly broke a house window after an argument with her parents.

Woman defies store ban

Officers arrested a woman for investigation of third-degree theft and first-degree trespassing after she reportedly took a few items from a store where she had been banned from four years ago.

The incident occurred at about 9:34 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the parking lot of the WinCo store, 21100 91st Pl. S.

The woman reportedly put items in her jacket, according to store security. She paid for several items when she checked out of the store but not for items she had under her coat.

When an officer asked the woman about the incident, she asked for an attorney before she would answer any questions.

Records showed the woman had been banned in 2011 from the store for 100 years. She had signed an agreement not to return to the store.
