A 20-year-old Kent man died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash at about 1:04 a.m. Saturday, March 24 along southbound Interstate 405 in Tukwila, just north of I-5.
Nathan E. Crawford, the driver of a 1996 Honda Civic, died after being transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to a March 26 Washington State Patrol media release.
A 23-year-old Auburn man, who was a passenger in Crawford’s car, was transported to Harborview with injuries. A 33-year-old Hobart man, the driver of a 2008 Ford Edge SUV, was not injured. A passenger in his car, a 21-year-old Seattle man, was taken to Harborview with injuries. Both drivers and the two passengers each wore seat belts.
The two vehicles were traveling southbound on I-405 approaching I-5 in lane two. Crawford’s vehicle attempted to pass the other vehicle and the two collided.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the State Patrol accident report.
