Renton officers were called around 2 a.m. on Aug. 30, for a call of shots fired in the 500 block of South Grady Way at a large shopping center parking lot.
The first officer to arrive reported that about 200 cars were leaving the lot and states that they received information several people were shooting guns. The reason for the gathering is unknown, according to police. Drivers often gather in the Renton and Kent areas to street race, but police didn’t indicate the reason for the large group of vehicles.
