An 83-year-old Kent man driving Tuesday morning, Feb. 20 along 132nd Avenue SE reportedly pulled over to the side of the road for a medical emergency he was having, left the car in gear and it continued forward until crashing.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene but initial information suggests the crash was not the cause of death, according to a Feb. 21 email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner. The incident occurred at about 10:16 a.m. along 132nd Avenue SE near SE 231st Place, just north of Sunrise Elementary School.
Paramedics transported an 81-year-old female passenger, the wife of the driver, to a local hospital with minor injuries, Kasner said.
