A 33-year-old Kent man was killed after his motorcycle crashed at about 9:42 p.m. Wednesday along State Route 599 near East Marginal Way in Tukwila.
Trung H. Vu was traveling southbound on SR 599 in a curve, lost control and the motorcycle came to rest in lane two, ejecting Vu into lane one, according to the Washington State Patrol.
A car driven by a 23-year-old Renton man then struck Vu and hit the motorcycle, pushing it into the guardrail on the right shoulder. The car came to a rest in lane two. The driver initially fled on foot but then returned to the scene, according to an email from Trooper Rick Johnson. Vu died at the scene.
The cause of the crash was speed too fast for conditions, according to the State Patrol.
Troopers arrested the Renton man for investigation of DUI, Johnson said. He said detectives continue to investigate the incident and are working with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to determine if more charges will be filed.
