Kent man, 25, dies in two-vehicle crash on Reith Road | Update: man identified

Early Tuesday morning collision

A 25-year-old Kent man was killed in a two-vehicle crash at about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 25300 block of Reith Road.

Hassen Nur died from multiple blunt force injury, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Nur was driving a sedan that reportedly made a left turn in front of an eastbound pickup driven by a 44-year-old Port Orchard man, according to a Kent Police news release. The pickup struck the the passenger side of the sedan which caused the car to be impacted into a guardrail on the east side of the road.

Police officers and firefighters performed live-saving efforts on Nur, but the man died at the scene. Paramedics transported the other driver to a local hospital but his condition is unknown, according to police. Both men were alone in their vehicles.

Crash investigators said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor. Road conditions were dark, rainy and wet.

The road was closed for a couple of hours between Lake Fenwick Road and 42nd Avenue South and the South 253rd Street/Reith Road intersection.
