A 22-year-old Kent man died in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning along State Route 97 in Chelan County on Blewett Pass in north Central Washington.
Jesus R. Aguilar Castro was northbound on SR 97 in a 2000 Chevy Silverado pickup when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck an embankment, according to a Washington State Patrol report. The truck rolled and came to a rest on its top in the northbound ditch. Castro died at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.
The wreck occurred at about 6:50 a.m., about 18 miles south of Dryden. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved, according to the State Patrol. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
