Kent Police arrested a woman on outstanding warrants Thursday and are working with Puget Sound Fire for investigation of the woman for possibly starting a house fire earlier in the day in the 13300 block of Southeast 263rd Place.
Officers brought in the woman on warrants after finding her still in the area of the fire, according to an email from Kyle Ohashi, spokesman for Puget Sound Fire.
The woman was identified from surveillance video, Ohashi said.
Two people were forced to flee their home at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday after they heard a strange sound and saw that the front of their house was on fire. The two adults were able to escape safely, according to a Puget Sound Fire media release.
A fire early Thursday morning also heavily damaged a building at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 SE 272nd St.
Police and fire officials have not said whether the two fires are related.
