Gusts of wind up to 45 to 50 mph could strike Kent late Tuesday afternoon or evening.
The National Weather Service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday issued a wind advisory for Western Washington between 2 p.m. and midnight Tuesday.
A vigorous frontal system will bring windy conditions to the Washington Coast, Northwest interior and much of the Puget Sound region, including Seattle, Tacoma, Bremerton and the Hood Canal.
Winds will increase as the day goes on with the periods of strongest winds expected late this afternoon through this evening.
South winds are predicted between 15 to 25 mph becoming southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 45 to 50 mph.
Impacts could include local damage to trees and power lines with small trees possibly being toppled due to saturated soils or recent ice damage. Local power outages are possible, falling trees and limbs could also cause injury.
The National Weather Service issues a wind advisory when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph or gusts of 45 to 57 mph are likely.
