Sunday will provide lots of colorful costumes, drill, dance and marching teams in the streets of downtown Kent, as the Cornucopia Grande Parade gets under way. Expect to see pirates, a grand marshal, floats, kids, scouts and bands in the festive procession.
This year’s theme of “It’s Kentastic!” invites everyone to our home town celebration with the parade starting at 2 p.m. staged along Fourth Avenue from Saar to James streets.
The KParade route will be modified slightly this year. It will still start at Willis Street, head north on Fourth Avenue and will end at Ramsay Street. From there, it will turn left between the Kent Commons and the King County Regional Justice Center and disperse in the ShoWare Center.
The newly crowned Miss Cornucopia and her court will make their 1st debut after becoming the 2010-11 recipients of the scholarship program.
Come and see the numerous local, state and national elected representatives.
THE ROUTE
• Along 4th Ave. from Willis St to James St.
• Live broadcast on City of Kent channel 21
• Theme is “It’s Kentastic!”
