The Kent Community Foundation will award 10 college scholarships to high school seniors at its annual awards banquet on Wednesday, June 4, at the ShoWare Center.

The awards ceremony will occur during the monthly membership luncheon of the Kent Chamber of Commerce. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Reserve a seat by May 28 by calling the chamber at 253-854-1770 or go to kentchamber.com.

The event will include an inspirational message about the importance of the scholarships and information about how members of the community can donate or become more involved with the foundation.

“We had so many exceptional scholarship applicants this year, it was hard to choose,” said Lew Sellers, Kent Community Foundation president. “It is such an honor to be able to help these young students continue their education.”

The scholarships to be awarded include the Bob Armstrong, Richard and Ina Balash, Covington Chamber of Commerce, EHCO, Friends of KM, Ron Osborne, Linda Ruby, Wes Soderburg, the Thunderbird Community Sports scholarships and the Johnson-Stoddard-Osness scholarship.
