City of Kent road crews closed 76th Avenue South on Friday because of water over the roadway.
Public Works sent out a closure notice just after 12 p.m. that the road is closed between South 212th Street and South 228th Street until further notice.
The street gets covered with water whenever there is heavy rainfall. City officials have plans to dredge Mill Creek to help reduce flooding, but that work remains a few years away.
Mill Creek runs through the heart of Kent’s industrial area and has caused flooding for years along 76th Avenue South.
