The city of Kent threw a farewell gathering on Tuesday night for outgoing Kent City Council members Elizabeth Albertson and Jamie Perry.
Albertson served eight years on the council. Perry was appointed to the council in 2008 and elected to a four-year term in 2009. Neither woman ran for reelection in November.
Albertson has been nominated by the 33rd Legislative District Democrats to fill out State Rep. Dave Upthegrove’s term in the Legislature. The Metropolitan King County Council is expected to confirm Albertson’s House nomination in early January. Albertson will then serve one year in the House and plans to run next year for the seat.
Perry plans to focus on her career as an early resolution case manager for King County Family Law Facilitators and on her family, which includes husband Matt Perry and their two young daughters.
Albertson and Perry attended their final council meeting on Tuesday.
Jim Berrios and Ken Sharp will begin their four-year terms on the council in January.
