Kent Covenant has expanded its facilities, and it’s opening them to the community Sunday with a party and free food.
The theme is “Join the Fun at Kent Covenant Church,” and the event starts 1 p.m., culminating in a dedication worship service at 4 p.m. The church is located at Southeast 240th and 120 Avenue Southeast.
The event includes free hotdogs on the patio, live music and free lattes at the church espresso bar.
The celebrating highlights the church’s recent $4.2 million renovation and expansion.
The new facilities include an expanded foyer, espresso bar and fireside room, preschool and nursery classrooms, and a new office wing.
Sunday’s events will be welcoming for children, with activity centers in the preschool rooms and 4-Square and other activities for teens. The gym will be open for adult basketball and volleyball, and there will be informational displays throughout the building.
