Kent Chamber of Commerce hosts primary forums July 13, Aug. 10

The Kent Chamber of Commerce is hosting two candidate forums, for the upcoming primary elections.

The Kent Chamber of Commerce is hosting two candidate forums, for the upcoming primary elections.

Organized by the chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, the events take place noon to 2 p.m. July 13 and Aug. 10, and will cover the races of the 33rd and 47th districts. Both will take place at the Kent Centennial Building’s North/South Conference Room, 400 W. Gowe St.

The July 13 event covers the 47th District. Those races will include:

• State Senate Race – Sen. Claudia Kauffman, Joe Fain and Matthew Sas

• State House Race, Pos. 1 – Rep. Geoff Simpson, Nancy Wyatt, Mark Hargrove

• House Race, Pos. 2 – Rep. Pat Sullivan, Rodrigo Yanez

The Aug. 10 event is for the 33rd District, with the following races:

State Senate Race – Sen. Karen Keiser and Jack Michalek

State Representative Pos. 1 – Rep. Tina Orwall

State Representative, Pos. 2 – Rep. Dave Upthegrove
