Wear a Big Smile – a charitable foundation of Kent-based Washington Shoe Company – recently distributed boots to kindergarten students at two Kent elementary schools.
The foundation handed out 59 pairs of boots at Pine Tree Elementary on Oct. 5, and visited Millennium Elementary the following day, giving away 60 pairs of boots.
The events were a part of the foundation’s goal to donate $125,000 in product to community organizations this year to celebrate Washington Shoe Company’s 125th anniversary. Rob Moehring, former CEO of Washington Shoe, created the foundation earlier this year.
Washington Shoe also donated raincoats and rain boots to the Kent Area Council PTA Clothing Bank earlier this year.
