Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee and Republican challenger Loren Culp will meet in their only statewide televised debate Wednesday night (Oct. 7).
Inslee and Culp will answer questions for one hour, starting at 8 p.m.
Unlike the recent presidential debate, the two men will not be in the same room. Inslee and Culp will participate from separate rooms at the Olympia headquarters of the state’s government affairs channel TVW.
The debate will be televised live on several stations including KING 5, KOMO 4, KIRO 7, KCTS 9 and TVW. KCPQ 13 will record and air the debate at 9 pm., according to organizers. It will also be live streamed on KCTS9.org, KING5.com, KIRO7.com, KOMONews.com, KUOW.org, NWPB.org, and TVW.org.
Four reporters will pose questions to the candidates. After his campaign won a coin toss, Inslee elected to give the final statement which means Culp will give the opening statement.
The Washington State Debate Coalition is organizing the event. For more information, go to www.wadebates.org.
