A 20-year-old Kent man killed Aug. 13 when his motorcycle collided with a car has been identified.
Joseph A. Curtain of Easthill, Kent, was traveling eastbound on Southeast 208th Street on a motorcycle when the northbound vehicle, driven by a 37-year-old Kent resident exited the Indigo Springs apartment complex at 11101 SE 208th St. and tried to turn west onto the street.
The motorcycle hit the vehicle on the front left side.
The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet. King County Medics declared the man dead on the scene after resuscitation efforts by Kent firefighters failed.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
There is no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement, and it is unknown whether speed played a contributing factor in the collision.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s office, the cause of death was blunt force injury of the trunk, or torso, caused by the collision. It has been ruled accidental.
