For the Reporter
The Hyde Shuttles provide valuable transportation for local seniors and folks with disabilities throughout King County, and the program is in great need of volunteer shuttle drivers near Kent.
In order to spread the word about this worthwhile volunteer opportunity, the program has embarked on an active volunteer campaign. The recruitment effort hopes to inundate the community with flyers displayed at favorite local establishments.
The flyers feature Brady (the token volunteer driver) taking part in a variety of activities with the tagline of, “When Brady isn’t (golfing, drinking lattes, playing Frisbee, playing his guitar, riding his motorcycle, beachcombing, playing tennis, reading, etc.), he’s driving the Hyde Shuttle!”
Senior Services recently introduced the new van service for seniors 55 years of age and older and people with disabilities of all ages.
Senior Services, a nonprofit agency serving older adults and their loved ones, operates the Hyde Shuttles in partnership with King County Metro.
Please contact Hilary at 206-748-7588 or hilaryc@seniorservices.org if you’d like more information about the campaign or are interested in becoming a volunteer driver.
