A house fire at about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 20000 block of 106th Avenue Southeast in the Panther Lake area of Kent left one man displaced.
Kent Fire Department and Renton Fire Department emergency units were dispatched after multiple 911 calls about the fire, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
The first arriving fire engine reported thick smoke and flames visible from the blown-out windows on the back side of the single story rambler. Firefighters immediately knocked the fire down from the outside and then were able to gain entry into the house and extinguish the fire within 30 minutes.
Nobody was home when the fire broke out.
Neighbors said a man lived in the house alone and worked at nights. The homeowner arrived at the house a couple of hours after the fire started. Red Cross is providing assistance with food, clothing and housing to the homeowner.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
Damage to the structure has been estimated at $120,000.
