Federal Way Police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run crash, in which a vehicle struck and killed a 34-year-old man while he was riding his bicycle in the 27800 block of Pacific Highway South, just south of the city of Kent border.
Officers responded to a man down in the roadway just past midnight, according to Federal Way Police Cmdr. Kurt Schwan. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
The vehicle that killed the man appears to be similar to a 2000 Ford Ranger, is gray in color with slight damage or missing pieces to the front grill, according to police. The truck was seen on Safe City cameras driving away from the scene.
Anyone with information about the crash can call 911 or the Federal Way police at 253-835-2121.
As of late Friday morning, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office had not yet identified the victim.
The roadway was closed for several hours as Federal Way Police investigated the crash.
