Highline Community College celebrates 50 years, and is culminating its golden anniversary celebrations with a free concert for the campus and community from 6-8 p.m. June 11.
The concert features local legends, Jr. Cadillac, a rock band from the Northwest. The band has opened for The Beach Boys, The Kinks, ELO, Ten Years After, Yes, Jethro Tull and played with Chuck Berry.
“We wanted to end our year of 50th celebrations with an opportunity for the whole community and campus to come together,” said Highline President Dr. Jack Bermingham. “This is a chance to commemorate the accomplishments and memories of the last 50 years, and to look forward to next 50.”
Highline, founded in 1961, has been holding numerous campus events and activities surrounding the 50th anniversary of the college, ending with the graduation ceremony on June 14.
The concert will be held in the Highline Student Union, Building 8. Cake and refreshments will be served. For more information, visit highline.edu/50thParty.
