Kent church offers Halloween fun
Get plenty of treats, enter a costume contest and take a cupcake walk from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the annual Trunk or Treat at Kent United Methodist Church, 11010 S.E. 248th St.
Children can go trick or treating from car to car parked at the church. The costume contest and parade starts at 6 p.m. Hot dog dinners are available for $1.
The event, set up for families with children ages 12 and younger, also includes a fishing booth and pictures.

Trick or treat at Kent Station
Take the children trick or treating from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Kent Station shopping mall, 417 Ramsay Way.
Mall merchants and Kent MultiCare will pass out treats.
Judging starts at 4:30 p.m. for the costume contest. Kent Station will award gift cards to the best individual costumes and best group costumes.
Kent Station merchant managers and owners and a MultiCare guest judge will pick costume winners based on originality, details and accessories that coordinate the ensemble and overall appearance.
Contestants must be present at 5:30 p.m. at the outdoor fireplace to be eligible for prices. The winners will receive Kent Station gift cards, good at any Kent Station merchant, restaurant or the AMC Theaters.

Turn your candy in for cash
One Kent dentist is redefining the phrase “put your money where your mouth is.” This Halloween trick-or-treaters 12 and under can bring their unopened excess candy to Dr. Susan Hollinsworth’s office on Kent’s East Hill and receive $1.00 per pound of candy. Dr. Hollinsworth is leading this anti-decay movement by giving away cash in exchange for cavity-provoking candy.

Wild Waves Theme Park offers FrightFest
Enjoy thrills and chills over the next two weekends as the Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way transforms into Wild Waves Scream Park for FrightFest, the park’s annual Halloween festival.
FrightFest runs from 5-11 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday Oct. 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31.
Admission includes 25 rides and attractions, including The Scream Factory Haunted House, a combination of 20 indoor and outdoor rooms of terror. The ride is recommended for guests older than 12.
Other adventures, music and shows, including a trick-or-treat town are scattered throughout the park.
Tickets are $39.99 at the gate or $29.99 if ordered online. Children ages 3 and younger get in for free.
