Green River College’s Prime Time Program kicked off its year with an afternoon social at the downtown Auburn Center on Nov. 3.
The program featured a presentation by college president Suzanne Johnson with an introduction by former Green River President Rich Rutkowski.
The Prime Time program – offered through the college’s Continuing Education Department – is geared for active adult learners 55 and older. The program offers a variety of educational classes taught by current and retired college faculty, local tours and special events each quarter.
With more than 60 people in attendance, which included current Prime Time members, community leaders and retired faculty and staff, Johnson and Rutkowski spoke about the role education and lifelong learning has played in their lives and the importance and value of this program for the community.
Prime Time members Frank Rasmussen and Janice Tessin-Thuline also shared their personal experiences, why they participate in the program and provided examples of past programs.
