Five family members and their dog managed to escape from a Kent house fire early Friday morning, Aug. 12 in the 12600 block of SE 270th St.
Firefighters responded at about 1:27 a.m. and saw a large amount of fire showing from the rear windows of the house, according to an Aug. 12 email from Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak. The family members and dog escaped prior to firefighters arriving.
Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 50 minutes. Eight fire apparatus and four support vehicles responded to the fire. Twenty-four emergency response personnel were on the call.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Pawlak said. Nobody was injured.
American Red Cross provided emergency assistance to the family.
