Firefighters rescued a woman trapped in the basement during a Kent house fire at about 9:30 a.m. Monday in the 26100 block of 114th Avenue Southeast.
Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority firefighters were dispatched to a report of a fire with someone possibly trapped, according to a Puget Sound Fire media release. When they got on scene, firefighters found the entire backside of the house in flames.
Other residents confirmed that one person was missing, so firefighters immediately went inside to locate the woman who was trapped in the basement. They were able to bring the woman out safely.
Seven people were displaced by the fire. Nobody was injured. Red Cross is assisting the people.
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
