Firefighters extinguish blaze at Kent apartment complex

Fire broke out Thursday night, May 30 on 100th Avenue SE; no serious injuries; 3 cats rescued

Firefighters extinguished a Kent apartment fire in about 30 minutes after responding to a two-alarm fire in the 23700 block of 100th Avenue SE.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 9:39 p.m. Thursday, May 30, according to Puget Sound Fire spokesperson Pat Pawlak. Paramedics evaluated two patients for minor injuries.

Fourteen fire units with about 35 fire department personnel responded, Pawlak said. Firefighters located three cats in the apartment where the fire broke out and all three are doing fine and were reunited with their owner.

Red Cross is assisting the resident with emergency housing.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
