Firefighters from the Kent Regional Fire Authority and Maple Valley Fire and Rescue extinguished a bedroom fire in the 26200 block of 200 Avenue Southeast in Covington on Saturday morning.
The resident came home to find the fire on the second story of his home. The 911 call was made at 6:46 a.m., and the owner’s roommate, who was home at the time of the fire, was able to get out safely, authorities said.
The fire damage was limited to the bedroom where it started, though there was smoke damage throughout the house, Kent Fire officials said.
The fire is under investigation. There were no working smoke alarms.
