A fire in the 11400 block of SE 208th Street in Kent heavily damage a double-wide mobile home but did not result in any injuries.
Firefighters from the Kent and Renton RFAs were dispatched at 12:26 p.m. on Tuesday, after multiple people called 911 to report that smoke was coming from the mobile home.
It took firefighters almost an hour to fully extinguish the fire, which had spread quickly through the building, according to a Kent Regional Fire Authority media release. No others structures were affected.
Windy weather played a part in the fire spread. But the fire was on the side of the home away from the wind.
The mobile home’s single occupant got out quickly, and according to him, there were working smoke alarms in the home.
Fire investigators determined an overloaded electrical outlet in an exterior wall caused the fire, which is considered accidental.
