A recently used lawnmower ignited combustibles to cause a Kent garage fire at about 2:12 p.m. Monday in the 23600 block of 164th Avenue Southeast on the East Hill.
Firefighters from the Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority and Maple Valley Fire Department were dispatched to the call and found smoke coming from the residential three-car garage, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
An aggressive attack of the fire kept it from spreading into the main portion of the two-story home. Everyone was able to get out safely prior to the fire department arriving and no one was hurt.
Because the fire damage was limited to the garage, the homeowners are able to stay at their residence.
