Puget Sound Fire units responded to smoke from a condominium at about 9:19 p.m. Monday in the 9600 block of South 248th Street in Kent.
The first engine on scene saw lazy black smoke coming from the condo’s front door with the home’s occupant standing outside suffering from burns to the body, according to a Puget Sound Fire news release. While a crew cared for the man, other units pulled hose and extinguished the fire, located in the kitchen.
The first King County Medic One unit on scene immediately took over patient care of the man and transported him to a local hospital. The seriousness of his condition was unknown, according to Puget Sound Fire.
The fire crews were able to keep the fire to the one unit which allowed the other families in the same complex to return to their homes.
