A female body was found floating in the Green River Friday afternoon just outside the south city limits of Kent.
It is unknown how the body got into the river or the cause of death, according to a King County Sheriff’s Office media release.
It appears the woman has been in the river at least three weeks, possibly longer.
The Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just after 12:30 p.m. Friday from a woman at about South 277th Street and the Green River Road South. She said she could see a body about mid-channel and floating with the current.
The Marine Unit from the Sheriff’s Office and Guardian One were dispatched, and located the body at about 2:30 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
