Staff reports/Federal Way Mirror
Federal Way Police are investigating two shootings that occurred in Kent on Saturday night.
At approximately 10:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of South 272nd Street, Kent police were dispatched to two teenage boys lying in the middle of the road. According to Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy had sustained multiple life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center and are expected to live.
Detectives found two guns at the scene where the victims were found and believe they belonged to the victims.
Schrock said a preliminary investigation indicates two victims were involved in some type of dispute or altercation just before shots were fired.
Because of an overlap of jurisdictions at the scene of the shootings, Federal Way Police took over the investigation.
