A springtime tradition, Kent opened its downtown streets to a new farmers market season last Saturday.
Featuring farm-fresh produce, vendors and entertainment, the Kent Farmers Market is open 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 23 at the Town Square Plaza, Second Avenue North and West Smith Street.
New this season is mobile food vendors, part of a city-supported, temporary pilot program.
The market has been a Kent Lions community service project since 1974.
