Family members of several Seattle Seahawks football players will host a parent empowerment event on Thursday, July 30, at the ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St. in Kent.

The Hawks Birds Nest: A Family Affair is free and open to the community. Tickets can be reserved online.

Beverly and Kevin Sherman, parents of Richard Sherman; Sunshine Lynch, Marshawn Lynch’s mother; Debbie and Earl Thomas Jr., Earl Thomas III’s parents, and Bobby Wagner Sr. and Nakima Ward, Bobby Wagner’s father and sister, have teamed up with Foster Enterprise to create Hawks Birds Nest, a global consortium which gives celebrity families an educational platform to empower others through service and sharing personal testimonies.

Doors for the event open at 4 p.m. The event will feature interactive vendor booths, video presentations, entertainment and special performances, community speakers and presentations by Beverly and Kevin Sherman, Sunshine Lynch and Debbie and Earl Thomas Jr.

Timmie Foster, representative for the event, said the event is family friendly.

“The content is very well parent focused, but kids can get a lot from it because it is talking about raising Marshawn, raising Richard and raising Earl Thomas,” Foster said.
