Des Moines Police are asking people who were at the La Familia Sports Pub and Lounge during the triple killing on Sept. 26 to come forward with cellphone video or other information as detectives seek the suspects in the shooting.
“We have also observed at least six witnesses and bystanders who were holding up cellphones, presumably recording video before, during and after the shooting takes place,” according to a Sept. 30 Des Moines Police news release.
A surveillance video released by police showed people taking cellphone video or photos during a fight in the bar’s parking lot just prior to the shooting. The bar is at 22855 Pacific Highway S.
“We are in need of anyone who can help identify suspects or provide us cellphone video,” according to police. “We are urging anyone who was at the club during this incident, or who may have cellphone video taken during this time, to contact the police department.”

“We are actively reviewing surveillance video captured in the area during the time of the homicides and have identified several persons of interest,” according to police.
The three victims have been identified as Ezra Taylor, 26; Antoine Matthews, 32; and Angelia Hylton, 46.
Friends and family of Taylor have reached out to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound to add to the reward for tips that lead to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in the killings, according to police.
“We are hopeful the increased total reward of up to $5,000 will entice more people to come forward,” police said.
The incident began over a dispute between two people inside the bar, police said. The dispute spilled into the parking lot and the two people got into separate vehicles. The people began shooting into the crowd while driving away from the bar.
