So far, the Democratic incumbents are holding their ground in Legislative District 11.
Early election results for Legislative District 11 show Bob Hasegawa in the lead for State Senator, David Hackney in the lead for State Representative Pos. 1 and Steve Bergquist in the lead for State Representative Pos. 2, according to King County Election results as of 8:05 p.m. on Nov. 5.
The 11th district includes southern Seattle, Renton, Tukwila and a portion of Kent.
For State Senate, Democratic incumbent Bob Hasegawa, who is running unopposed, has garnered 95.32% of votes, or about 31,800 votes. Write-ins are at 4.68% of the vote, totalling 1,563. Total votes are currently tallied at 33,363.
For State Representative Pos. 1, early results show that Democrat David Hackney, who also is running unopposed, has garnered 95.41% of votes, or about 31,235 votes. There are 1,504 write-ins, which currently makes up 4.59% of the vote. Total votes are currently tallied at 33,283.
Finally, State Representative Pos. 2 Democrat Steve Bergquist has garnered 77.35% of votes, or about 29,554 votes with newcomer Greywolf, who favors the Libertarian Party, coming up behind with 21.42% of the vote, or about 8,183 votes. Position 2 write-ins made up 1.24% of the vote, totalling in 473. Total votes are currently tallied at 38,210.
VOTER TURNOUT
In Legislative District 11, voting turnout came out to just over 48.27% with 43,407 ballots counted of the 89,920 registered voters.
CAMPAIGN FINANCES
According to the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission, as of Nov. 5, Bob Hasegawa had raised $81,451.16 and spent $112,627.35, David Hackney had raised $129,906.06 and spent $78,961.44, Steve Bergquist had raised $112,917.09 and spent $73,895.54 and Justin Greywolf had raised and spent $0.
