Western Washington University student Tatia Davis, daughter of Brian and Sharon Argetsinger and wife of Michael Davis of Kent, received a $1,200 Corinne Werder Special Education Scholarship and a $1,500 Max and Priscilla Higbee Special Education Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year.
The Corinne Werder Special Education Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate special education majors and/or graduate students in the masters in exceptional-children-program credentials. The Max and Priscilla Higbee Memorial Special Education Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student in the exceptional-children program within the Woodring College of Education at WWU.
Davis, a senior at WWU, has earned a 3.9 GPA. She is anticipated to graduate in spring 2011 with a degree in Special Education. She is a full-time mother of two young boys and her professional goals include becoming a middle-or high-school special education teacher working with low income students with learning disabilities.
