A 37-year-old Kent man suffered non-life threatening injuries when he reportedly ran a red light at the intersection of South 228th Street and 64th Avenue South at about 4:51 p.m. Monday and collided with a UPS semi, sliding partway under the truck trailer.
The driver of the car was northbound on 64th Avenue South and the truck was westbound on South 228th Street, said Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner in an email. Kasner said the driver had to be extricated by Puget Sound Fire personnel because the top of the car was crushed. Nobody else was in the car. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital for treatment.
