COVID-19 testing site opens at Highline College in Des Moines

Free tests 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday

A new, free COVID-19 testing site has opened at Highline College in Des Moines.

The test site is at 2402 S. 240th St, in the South Parking Lot. Testing is provided at a walk-up tent. Free parking is available, as well as access to the 156 bus line. The site opened Nov. 20. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The site expands efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 in a disproportionately affected region of King County. These sites are free and open to anyone, regardless of insurance or immigration status.

If you have COVID-like symptoms or have had close contact with someone with COVID-19, Public Health – Seattle & King County urges you to avoid contact with others and get tested immediately. Stay home and away from others while you are waiting for test results.

People are encouraged, but not required, to register for a testing appointment.

Visit chifranciscan.org/freetesting for scheduling and registration. Visit kingcounty.gov/covid/sites to see information on all free testing sites, including Highline College.

The testing site will be operated by CHI Franciscan and hosted by Highline College, with support from King County.

Clients will not be charged for testing. Bring your insurance card and driver’s license if you have them. No one will be turned away if they do not have insurance or a driver’s license. Language interpretation available.

UW Medicine earlier this year had offered testing on Wednesdays at Highline College.
