Volunteers are wanted to help the city of Kent build a new trail and make other improvements at Glenn Nelson Park, South 268th Street and Military Road.
The work party will run from 9 a.m. to noon June 6 as part of the city’s participation in American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day.
The Home Depot store in Kent donated a $1,000 grant to the city to help fund the event. Home Depot employees also will participate in helping with the park improvements.
Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and a shovel, wear sturdy shoes or boots (no sandals allowed) and dress for the weather, as the event is held rain or shine.
