The city of Kent will close Second Avenue North between West Smith Street and West Meeker Street from about 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, because of a vigil for Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno at Town Square Plaza.
Crews also will close the eastern half of West Harrison Street between Fourth Avenue North and Second Avenue North, according to City Public Works officials.
The vigil begins at 7 p.m. for Moreno, 35, of Auburn, who was killed during a police pursuit on Sunday. He was an eight-year veteran of the force.
A memorial service for Moreno is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, at the accesso ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St.
