Parents know once school is out, finding healthy activities for kids can be a challenge. Get them out of the house and keep them engaged and learning with one of the city of Kent’s summer day camps.
Teenagers entering seventh, eighth and ninth grade this fall can look forward to field trips, sports, games and adventures to keep them active all summer, according to a city media release.
Teen Camp runs every weekday from June 23 until Aug. 15, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Mill Creek Middle School.
Camp W.A.L.K.A.P.A.L.A. and its variety of sports, arts and crafts and field trips designed especially for K-sixth graders runs every weekday from June 23 until Aug. 8 at Kent Elementary School and Aug. 11-15 at Kent Parks Community Center from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to youth and teen Program Coordinator Dave Hobbs, kids can look forward to days filled with numerous activities.
“From beaches to baseball games, we’ve got a fun line up and a great summer planned,” Hobbs said.
All weekly camp fees include field trips, snacks and lunch provided by the Kent School District. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
