Just how much do golfers enjoy their experience at Riverbend Golf Course? The city of Kent hopes to get that answer from a new survey.
Golf customers, whether they golf at the city-owned Riverbend Golf Complex or not, are asked to complete a five-minute online survey by Sunday, June 11.
City Parks and Recreation Director Julie Parascondola says the purpose of the survey is to assist in creating value for golfers.
“Besides creating value for them, we’re building a six-year sustainable business model, so their opinions are critical. Golf is an enterprise fund which means that the course is expected to support itself with the revenue it brings in,” Parascondola said in a city media release.
The survey includes questions about what factors of a golf course are important, the type of features players enjoy and preferred food and beverage service.
The City Council recently sold the Riverbend par 3 course property for $10.5 million to a developer who plans to build 500 apartments as well as retail and restaurant space. City officials plan to use proceeds from the sale to improve the 18-hole course and pay off debt at the golf complex.
Three restaurants have failed at a city-owned facility next to the course over the last several years and the space remains vacant.
The survey is available at SurveyMonkey.com/r/RiverbendGolf.
Those who complete the survey and provide their email address will get a free bucket of balls for use at Riverbend’s Driving Range.
