The community is invited to attend a Burmese New Year celebration Jan. 1 at Kent Covenant Church, 12010 S.E. 240th St., Kent.
The celebration is through a Burmese ethnic group called the Karen, and it will usher in what for the Karen will be New Year 2750.
The event runs 2-4 p.m.
