Rite Aid to open
late August
The new Rite Aid drugstore at the corner of Washington Avenue and Meeker Street in Kent is slated to open by the end of August.
Store officials are expected to start training staff and estimate an opening in six to eight weeks, said Kurt Hanson, Kent’s economic-development manager, at a July 1 City Council meeting.
Store construction was finished more than a year ago. A driveway-access conflict between the owners of Rite Aid and city officials had delayed the opening. That issue has since been resolved.
Rite Aid has three other stores in Kent — two on the East Hill and one on the West Hill.
Schools survey
ends July 18
The Kent School District invites all parents and community members to participate in a brief online survey about KSD communications.
The survey is available through the KSD home page at www.kent.k12.wa.us.
The survey takes a few minutes to complete and will aid the district in determining how to best share information about schools with the community. Responses will remain anonymous. The survey ends July 18.
