BNSF Railway had a problem with the signal system Tuesday afternoon both north and south of the Puget Sound corridor, including Kent, that temporarily halted train movement on the tracks for Sounder, freight and Amtrak.
BNSF closed the tracks around 3 p.m. but got the system back on line by 3:30 p.m., according to Sound Transit officials. All Sounder north and south line trains could not proceed until the problem was resolved.
Impacted Sounder trains were the 1507 (2:32 pm Seattle departure) and 1509 (3:12 pm Seattle departure). All other trains on the north and south line are expected to depart on time.
