Phone harassment
A woman told police that a man she had met through work left hostile and vulgar voicemail messages for her after she told him she had no romantic interest in him because she already had a boyfriend.
Kent Police cited the man for harassment for leaving the messages, which included, “I hope you die. I hope you end up in prison. I’m gonna somehow hurt you,” according to the police report.
The woman told police she met the man during smoke breaks at her restaurant job. The man worked at a nearby restaurant. They exchanged phone numbers.
But the woman became concerned when the man reportedly started to watch her from his car and then one day left eight voicemail messages. Each message became more hostile and vulgar.
The man told officers he had bought a large quantity of alcohol the night he made the phone calls. He said he had purchased cigarettes for the woman and that he was hurt when she would not see him.
Theft
A man reportedly grabbed a case of beer and walked out without paying in an incident at 2:35 p.m. July 25 at a store in the 13100 block of Southeast Kent Kangley Road.
The man told officers he did not have the money to pay for the beer, according to the police report. Police searched the man and found $22.50 in cash. The beer was valued at $10.99.
Police arrested the man for investigation of third-degree theft.
Drugs
Police arrested a woman for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia after they spotted her walking at about 3:35 a.m. July 25 in the 24200 block of Pacific Highway South.
Police also discovered the woman had an order in effect to stay out of areas of prostitution. Officers were looking for prostitution activity along the stretch of Pacific Highway where they spotted the woman.
The woman told officers she had smoked “rock” in the past hour, according to the police report. “Rock” is a slang term for crack cocaine.
Officers searched the woman’s purse and reportedly discovered a glass pipe with burnt residue.
